Data We Collect

Learn about the types of data we collect and how we handle your information on Learnix.

User Credentials Information

When registering on Learnix, we collect only the information necessary to create and manage your user account. This data is used strictly for authentication and internal account management purposes.

  • University Seat Number
  • User Name
  • Password (securely hashed before storage)
  • Account registration date
  • Last account update timestamp

Your password is never stored in plain text. It is securely hashed using industry-standard methods before being saved in our database.

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal or credential data with any third parties. All collected information is stored internally and used solely to provide access to Learnix services.

Uploaded Subjects and Topics Information

When you upload subjects, topics, or related study materials on Learnix, we collect and process certain information to properly identify ownership, manage content visibility, and provide platform features.

  • Your University Seat Number (USN) and name, used as identifiers and to grant upload authority
  • Metadata related to uploaded files, stored securely in our database
  • Upload date and time
  • Last modified date and time

The actual files and images you upload are stored securely on the Cloudinary cloud platform. We do not store the raw files directly on our servers. Instead, we save and use the secure URLs provided by Cloudinary to retrieve and display the uploaded content.

You have full control over the visibility of the content you upload and may change its visibility settings according to the options provided on the platform.

Saved Content and Local Storage

Learnix allows users to save uploaded subjects, topics, or files for easier access at a later time. This saved content feature is handled locally within your browser.

When you save content, information related to that content is stored in your browser's local storage. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Saved content stored in local storage will remain available unless you manually choose to unsave the content, clear your browser data, or uninstall the browser or application.

You have full control over locally saved content and may remove it at any time through the platform's interface or your browser settings.

Feedback Information

Learnix provides users with the option to submit feedback to help us improve the platform and user experience.

We do not collect or store any personal information as part of the feedback submission process. Feedback messages are stored solely for review and improvement purposes.

Tools and Temporary Sharing Information

Learnix provides tools that allow users to temporarily share files and text content across devices. These tools are designed for short-term usage and convenience.

File Upload and Sharing Tool

When you upload a file using the file sharing tool, the file is stored on the Cloudinary cloud platform for a maximum duration of 24 hours. After uploading, a unique access code is generated, which can be used to retrieve the file on other devices.

Both the uploaded file and its associated access code will automatically expire after 24 hours. Once expired, the file and code can no longer be accessed or recovered.

You may upload any type of file using this tool for instant sharing. However, users are strongly advised not to upload confidential, sensitive, or personal files.

Text Sharing Tool

When using the text sharing tool, the text you submit is stored temporarily in our database for up to 24 hours. This allows short-term access across devices.

After 24 hours, the stored text content is automatically deleted and cannot be accessed, retrieved, or restored.

Analytics and Usage Data

We use Google Analytics to track website traffic and user interactions in order to understand usage patterns and improve our services. Google Analytics collects information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on pages.

This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. For more details on how Google handles collected data, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.

If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you can use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Content Deletion and Access Control

Any content you upload to Learnix is under your control. As the uploader, you have the ability to delete your content at any time through your account interface. Once deleted, the content will no longer be accessible to you or other users.

Access to your uploaded content is restricted. Only you, as the uploader, and authorized administrators have access to manage or view the content. Other users cannot access or delete your content.
